Gil Morales is a swing trader, three-time author, co-Managing Director and Chief Portfolio Manager of MoKa Investors, LLC. Between 1998 and 2005 he achieved a record-breaking return of 10,904.25%.

Before he started his investment career, Morales aspired to become a cartoonist and graphic designer. However, because he was “tired of being a broke cartoonist”, he applied for a job as a stockbroker at Merill Lynch in Beverly Hills and achieved Executive Club status in his first year.

In 1997, he was personally recruited by William O’Neil to join William O’Neil + Company, Inc. where he stayed until 2005 managing a portion of the firm’s proprietary assets, and as a Manager of the O’Neil Institutional Services group where he was responsible for advising over 500 of the largest and most successful institutional investors in the world.

Morales has written three books; “Trade like an O’Neil disciple”, “How to make money selling stocks short”, and “In the trading cockpit with the O’Neil disciples”.

His trading style has changed since he worked at O’Neil + Company, and he now trades “OWL”-setups that stand for O’Neil, Wyckoff, and Livermore, and is a mix of these different styles. He favors early entries rather than classic breakouts.
